Local SEO for contractors, from someone who ran one
I help owner-operated contractors compete for local customers by aligning their Google Business Profile, website, reviews, and local listings. You work directly with someone who built and ranked his own Jacksonville service business—not an agency team.

Local SEO for a contractor is a connected system: the Google Business Profile establishes the local presence, the website explains the work and service area, reviews build trust, and accurate listings reinforce the business details.
You do not need a content calendar or a blog posting three times a week. You need the important services to be clear, the profile and website to agree, and the whole system focused on the work and locations that produce the right calls. See how Google Maps ranking works for contractors →
Most of what's sold as "SEO" to trade businesses is a generic package built for e-commerce or content sites and relabeled for contractors. It doesn't fit, and it shows in how little it moves.
What happens every month
- Prioritized workYour website, Google Business Profile, and local listings are reviewed together each month. I work on the clearest opportunity or problem first—a technical repair, service-page improvement, schema, internal links, profile alignment, or another evidence-backed priority. Some months are one substantial fix; others are several connected improvements.
- MonitoringI review Search Console, Analytics, and Google Business Profile performance so problems are caught early and decisions come from evidence.
- A written reportWhat I did, what moved, and what's next. Plain English. If a month was quiet, the report says so.
Plus email support and a quarterly strategy call to look at the whole picture rather than the month.
Built by someone who ran the business, not an agency
I built my own Jacksonville service business to the #1 Map Pack position and #1 organic result for its primary search term—without paid advertising.

That business also carried 519 Google reviews against a competitor's 161, built without ever gating a single customer — everyone got asked, good day or bad. Reviews are the part of contractor SEO nobody can outsource; I can tell you exactly what produced that and help you set up the mechanism, but the asking has to come from your crew.
Who this is for
Owner-operated trade businesses where I talk directly to the person who decides—not a marketing department or franchise office. I’ll be honest with you if that is not the right fit.
What this isn't
- Unlimited content or unlimited edits
- Link-building campaigns, private blog networks, or anything bought by the hundred
- Any promise about rankings — see below
- Weekly meetings, or a dashboard login instead of a human
- Enterprise SEO for a multi-location chain. That requires an agency-sized team
And it isn't sold by the hour. It's the monthly partnership or it isn't happening — my time is the constraint, and ad-hoc SEO work is how good intentions turn into a pile of disconnected tasks.
I won't promise you a ranking
Nobody controls Google's algorithm. Anyone guaranteeing you position one is either promising a phrase nobody searches for, or promising something they have no mechanism to deliver.
What I'll tell you honestly is what I've actually done, with the receipts to back it up, and I've written out plainly what it does and doesn't prove about your business.
Where you're located
I’m based in Jacksonville and focused on helping service businesses here first. This is the market I know deeply and the one I’m actively building in now. The work can be handled remotely, so I may consider a strong fit outside the area—but I’m not trying to build a national agency.
What it costs
For comparison, agencies selling SEO to contractors typically run $2,400–$5,000 a month. I'm not competing with them and I'm not trying to — this is a deliberately smaller, practical alternative for a business that wants steady progress rather than a department.
Need a website too? That's a separate, one-time build — see website design →
The partnership begins with a 90-day initial engagement, billed monthly. After that, it continues month to month and may be canceled before the next billing date. Full pricing →
Common questions
Why is there a 90-day initial engagement?
Local SEO is connected work, not a switch that gets flipped once. The first 90 days give us time to establish a baseline, correct the foundation, complete the highest-priority work and evaluate the early response. It is billed monthly, not annually, and continues month to month after the initial term.
How much does SEO cost for a contractor?
$300 setup plus $300 a month, published rather than quoted after a call. Agencies typically charge several thousand a month for a bigger, more generic version of the same work.
Do you only work with Jacksonville contractors?
I’m based in Jacksonville and focused on service businesses here first. Because the work can be handled remotely, I may consider a strong fit outside the area.
What trades do you work with?
Owner-operated service businesses — irrigation, lawn, pest control, HVAC, plumbing, and pressure washing are the ones I know best, from having run one myself.
Can you guarantee I'll rank #1?
No. Nobody controls Google's algorithm. What I can show you is a site I built that reached #1 for its primary search term, and I'll be honest about what that does and doesn't mean for your business.
Do you build the website too?
Yes, as a separate offering — a hand-built static site for $997 one-time plus $97 a month. You can start with either one.
