Pest Control SEO

Pest control SEO from someone who's built a review base from zero

Pest control lives or dies on two things: showing up when someone finds a roach at 9pm, and looking trustworthy enough in ten seconds that they call you instead of the next name down. That's a narrower problem than most SEO packages are built to solve.

What actually drives pest control search

Almost nobody researches pest control in advance. They search when they've already seen something — a roach, a termite swarm, a wasp nest — and they call whoever looks credible in the next sixty seconds. That means three things matter more than anything else: a Google Business Profile that's complete and current, enough recent reviews that the rating reads as real, and service-area pages that match what people actually type when something's wrong (general pest, termite, mosquito, wildlife or rodent).

None of that is content marketing. It's mechanical, and most of it is neglected rather than done badly — I see profiles missing services, stale photos, and homepages that never mention half of what the company actually treats.

The review problem, specific to pest control

Pest control is a repeat-visit business — quarterly plans, follow-up treatments — which means there are more chances to ask than a one-time repair call ever gets. Most companies waste that and ask once, if at all.

The mechanism that actually works is simple and doesn't need software: the technician tells the customer at the door, before leaving, that a text is coming and why it helps, then a text goes out within about twenty minutes while the visit is still fresh. That single ask, done consistently, is where the bulk of a strong review base comes from — the mechanics are written up here. I'll set this up as part of the monthly work; your technicians have to be the ones who say the line.

What happens every month

  • Prioritized workYour website, Google Business Profile, and citations reviewed together each month — a Google Business Profile fix, a service-area page built or optimised, schema added, review workflow tightened up, whatever the evidence says will actually move something. Some months are one substantial fix; others are several connected improvements.
  • MonitoringSearch Console, Analytics, and Google Business Profile insights reviewed, so problems get caught small and opportunities get caught at all.
  • A written reportWhat I did, what moved, and what's next. Plain English. If a month was quiet, the report says so.

Plus email support and a quarterly strategy call to look at the whole picture rather than the month.

Built by someone who's done this, not sold it

I built my own Jacksonville service business to the #1 Map Pack position and #1 organic result for its primary search term—without paid advertising.

That business also carried 519 Google reviews against a competitor's 161, built without ever gating a single customer — everyone got asked, good day or bad. It's a different trade than pest control, but the physics are the same: recurring service, a technician who shows up at the door, and a review ask that either happens every time or doesn't happen at all.

Who this is for

  • General pest control
  • Termite & WDO
  • Mosquito & outdoor
  • Wildlife & rodent

Owner-operated pest control companies where I talk directly to the person who decides — not a franchise marketing office. If you're part of a national franchise brand with its own marketing program, this probably isn't the fit, and I'll say so rather than take the work anyway.

What this isn't

  • Unlimited content or unlimited edits
  • Link-building campaigns, private blog networks, or anything bought by the hundred
  • Any promise about rankings — see below
  • Weekly meetings, or a dashboard login instead of a human
  • A review platform I operate on your behalf — I'll set up the mechanism, your team runs it

And it isn't sold by the hour. It's the monthly partnership or it isn't happening — my time is the constraint, and ad-hoc SEO work is how good intentions turn into a pile of disconnected tasks.

I won't promise you a ranking

Nobody controls Google's algorithm. Anyone guaranteeing you position one is either promising a phrase nobody searches for, or promising something they have no mechanism to deliver.

What I'll tell you honestly is what I've actually done, with the receipts to back it up, and I've written out plainly what it does and doesn't prove about your business.

Where you're located

I’m based in Jacksonville and focused on helping service businesses here first. This is the market I know deeply and the one I’m actively building in now. The work can be handled remotely, so I may consider a strong fit outside the area—but I’m not trying to build a national agency. If you'd rather see the broader version of this offer across trades, it's laid out here.

What it costs

$300setup+ $300/month

For comparison, agencies selling SEO to pest control companies typically run $2,400–$5,000 a month. I'm not competing with them and I'm not trying to — this is a deliberately smaller, practical alternative for a business that wants steady progress rather than a department.

The partnership begins with a 90-day initial engagement, billed monthly. After that, it continues month to month and may be canceled before the next billing date. Full pricing →

Common questions

Why is there a 90-day initial engagement?

Local SEO is connected work, not a switch that gets flipped once. The first 90 days give us time to establish a baseline, correct the foundation, complete the highest-priority work and evaluate the early response. It is billed monthly, not annually, and continues month to month after the initial term.

How much does pest control SEO cost?

$300 setup plus $300 a month, published rather than quoted after a call. Agencies typically charge several thousand a month for a bigger, more generic version of the same work.

Does this include the map pack?

Your Google Business Profile is in scope every month — for most pest control companies it drives more calls than the website, so it's core work, not an add-on.

Do you help with getting more reviews?

Yes — I'll set up the mechanism and the script, but the ask has to come from your technicians. It's the single biggest lever in pest control search, and nobody can outsource it.

Do you only work with Jacksonville companies?

I’m based in Jacksonville and focused on service businesses here first. Because the work can be handled remotely, I may consider a strong fit outside the area.

Can you guarantee I'll rank #1?

No, and be careful with anyone who says yes. What I can show you is a site I built that got there, and I'll be straight about what that does and doesn't mean for your business.
